Road trip out EAST - on the FARM

We usually travel to see my parents over Rance's spring break in April, one week in the summer, then a week at Christmas!  Otherwise, the times we see them are generally when they come to see us for a quick weekend visit.

We were thrilled to head east for a week at the end of July/beginning of August - half of which was spent on the farm in Nahunta and the other half at the beach (our ONCE a year beach trip hallelujah)!

Last year, I am positive Jayden did not even know he was in Nahunta or at the beach - but this year - OH this year - was a totally different story.  It was full of Jayden adventure and all of his favorite things and people for an entire week.  When one person was exhausted he just jumped to the next person offering to take him on the next excursion.

Jayden continues to travel well!  We do try to hit both nap times in the car and stop for a nice running break at a rest area so he can just get out and move.  Let's not forget that rest areas are ALWAYS full of dogs and that's one of his favorites so we meet lots of people during our rest area stop.

What did our trip look like?!?!?!

It was full of family time, seeing friends, following up with those we are investing in spiritually, and sharing with others about our new journey in full time ministry!

Here we go....

We do NOT have pigs in Robbinsville so it was a priority to visit the pork center and see the pigs with Lauren!

TRACTORS - he cannot get enough!

He got his first pork center hat too (the boy LOVES a hat!)

For all of you eastern North Carolina people, SIMPLY NATURAL creamery is amazing!  It is such a fun family friendly environment with a wonderful area for kids to play and not to mention, some incredible ice cream too!

Sara and I go WAY back!  We met in college freshman year and she was just 'that girl' that I clicked with instantly.  Over the years we have kept in touch and although we do not see each other often, we thoroughly enjoy our time of catching up when it happens.  I love hearing what the Lord is teaching her as a wife, mom and friend as well as challenging her with spiritually.  This lovely creamery was her idea so it was a place conducive to talking with THREE boys that would be totally occupied by a playground, ice cream, and cows!

Yes Jayden is splashing in the cows water :)  I love the weird looks I get as a mom sometimes (I cannot believe she is letting him do that yuck!) -
There were tractors & hay rides too...

Here goes our fearless child...

HEYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not sure if Jayden was trying to pat Cooper's head or push him off - one thing is certain, he loves kids!

Group shot with all the boys!

Meanwhile back at the farm....LOTS of hay huh?!?!

Endless tractor rides with Pa took place!

We pretty much lived outside until bed time!

Lots of rides on the rhino through the fields checking out crops!

Eating the endless blueberries we picked daily...yep, that's a favorite!

checking out the turkeys at the turkey houses!

Evening time with Lauren...

and JOSH!

and tractor rides right before bed!  Livin' the one year old dream?!

Here goes some exploring...

Every evening we were there, we made sure to run outside (if we were not out there already) to enjoy the lovely sunsets that you can see so well in the flatlands.

The moments, the day to day, the people along the way - we cherish the Giver of all blessings ...
