9 month checkup

I love taking Jayden to his check-up appointments.  I love the peditricians office, the nurses, the doctors, and just seeing how much he has grown, etc.

Last Wednesday, we headed to Jayden's 9 month checkup which again, I was super pumped about because it had been 3 whole months since his last checkup (at 6 months).  Since little man is ALL OVER THE PLACE now crawling, a dear (much wiser) friend of mine recommended using a stroller when taking Jayden in places so I'm not having to manage holding the swinging monkey, the diaper bag, and all things needed for the outting AND to give my back a break too.  THIS WAS LIFE CHANGING ADVICE.  I was able to load everything in the stroller and CARRY NOTHING and just push Jayden into his appointment.

It was SUPER convenient when I arrived and needed to go to the bathroom too :)

He just hung out in the waiting room while we waited for his appointment!

Jayden weighed 21 lb 14 oz and was 29.75 inches in length.  I thought it was interesting that at his 6 month appointment he had gone from the 90th percentile for height down to the 75th percentile and now he's back up to the 90th percentile again.  Thankfully, there are NO shots at the 9 month appointment so that was super fun news.

Jayden did nhave to get his finger pricked though but he did not even flinch; however, he was fascinated by the bandaid on his finger so much that he kept putting it in his mouth until eventually it came off and yes, I had to do the finger swipe to remove it.

Love those mountains outside the window :) and little chunkey monkey!

Jayden LOVES his doctor and so do I.

Back in the stroller and eating some puffs :)

And off to Walmart we go!!!!!!!!  I am thoroughly enjoying this age and his curiousity everywhere we go.

Praise His Holy Name for WARM weather!

This past weekend was so enjoyable for so many reasons.

Family time, beautiful weather, deadline met, dinner out, homemade pizza, time with friends, getting dirty, long walks, Sunday morning worship, college students in from spring break, and QT with the Lord!

March 15th is a BIG deadline in my job and it has now PASSED.  What a lovely thing.

Friday night, Rance, Jayden and I went out to dinner to celebrate.  As much as everyone encourages Rance and I to have a date night, which we still have not taken anyone up on their offer yet since Jayden has been born, WE THOROUGHLY enjoy our date nights as a family of 3!  We laugh and laugh and thank the Lord so much for the gift of Jayden because he is a HOOT.

It is about impossible to get him to look at the camera, especially when HE IS WATCHING CARS GO BY!

Here he is breaking out his SERIOUS, stop taking pictures, look....

Rance hardly ever holds Jayden in a NORMAL baby position....instead it always looks different or something like this...

Jayden and I did a little grocery shopping on Saturday.  Again, he's so intrigued by moving cars and watching people that looking at me is the farthest thing from his mind.

Saturday night, we feasted on some homemade pizzas and just hung out with this gang...

Featured below were the MALES:  Frank, Hamilton, Selleck, Wyatt, Ben, Rance and Jayden

Featured below are the FEMALES:  Jess, baby girl on the way and I!

Sunday was so beautiful, that once Jayden woke up from his nap, we soon headed outside for 3 1/2 hours of outdoor time.

He looks so old in this picture!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He loves to grab my hair and my sunglasses or maybe he's just adoring his mama?!?!?! NOT!!!

Of course we had a little snack time including some PUFFS - he still uses that pointer finger!

Yes, I smooch those cheeks off everyday!

Jayden was VERY excited when da da got home from his Campers for Christ meeting!

Yes, as his shirt says he 'will work for peanuts!!!'

We gave Jayden his very first apple to suck on and he went CRAZY!  He was alllllllllllllll into it!

You can do it, put your back into it!

Praising the Lord for all the above!

Boone weekend

The last weekend of February, we headed to Beech Mountain/Boone for the weekend!  As we were driving there, we realized we had not been to Boone since BEFORE WE GOT MARRIED.  How in the world did that happen?!?!?

The weekend consisted of a little bit of everything:

Hanging out on King Street at the Mast General Store, eating lunch at Macado's (I love this place!!!!!!!!!!!!), and allowing Rance to walk down memory lane since he did go to college at App State!

A few KING STREET pictures:

This picture is in honor of our family that owns the PORK CAPITAL OF THE USA!  Hehe, also known as Nahunta Pork Center - best pork in the nation!

We actually stayed at this LOVELY place called White Wolf Lodge while we were in the area and we HIGHLY recommend it.  We met Selleck last summer when he worked for Whisper Mountain in Robbinsville and his parents just recently purchased this lodge which is right on the slopes at Beech Mountain.  We enjoyed sweet fellowship with him and his family over the weekend and shared lots of stories on what the Lord has been doing and continues to do in each of our lives.

Boone, we WILL return sooner than last time!
