WeeKeNds at the Shuler's

Sometimes unplanned things are the BEST surprises and that's coming from someone that LOVES.TO.PLAN.

A few weekends ago, my friend Rachel, who recently returned from being in Swaziland for a year and a half, ended up staying with us for a night on her way back from a conference in Nashville.  While the visit was short and sweet and less than 24 hours, it was wonderful to just see her, be with her, hear the real details of her time in Africa, and know how to specifically pray for her going forward.

We love you Rachel!

Another REFRESHING weekend in the month of August (which was planned) was a visit from the Thum's - Marie, Chris, Jacob, Parker and baby boy Thum in the womb!  If you have been keeping up with this blog - you know our hearts toward this precious family.  I love that we can pick up where we left off every time and that our conversations are authentic and wrapped up in what the Lord is doing in our lives.

We have loved watching this little man grow into such a fun, loving young man!

We enjoyed a Saturday at Deep Creek together!

What little boys don't like waterfalls, creeks, rocks, and all!?!

One of the highlights of the weekend was being able to keep Jacob and Parker while Marie and Chris headed off to a close friend's wedding!  Rance and I thoroughly enjoyed an evening pretending to be parents of 3 boys!  SO FUN :)

We doubled up and had some serious tractor rides!

We headed to the park by our house - boys road in the back of the truck - OF COURSE!

We headed to the POOL for some swimming!

We ate snacks before bed!

WE HAD SO MUCH FUN!

We are expecting Jacob to plan our next Shuler/Thum weekend together!
