A couple of weeks ago winter formal took place at the high school. Of course this is a wonderful excuse to get all dressed up, take lots of pictures, eat something good, and possibly dance the night away if that is your thang.
No, I did not attend winter formal, but I did get to spend the evening with two of the coolest teenagers I know - Frank & Jasmine.
Words cannot begin to describe the JOY it is knowing these two. You might ask why?! Rance and I have had the privilege of watching them grow in their relationship with the Lord over the last few years and it is simply astounding. I look back at my high school years and I just did not 'get it.' I had no idea what it looked like to have an intimate day to day relationship with the Lord and to involve Him in every thing - every choice, every decision, every part of my day. Discipleship has played a key role in their lives just like it did mine and to see where they are today makes me do back flips.
A few months ago (after much prayer), Frank began pursuing a relationship with Jasmine and it has been even more fun to watch these two continue to grow individually, grow together, and set boundaries so that their relationship is pure and honoring to the Lord. Watching them discover truth and a sweet day to day intimacy with the Lord at such a young age is SO encouraging. These two challenge me and I'm so thankful for that.
