*Baby hootie has a NAME*

*Jayden Talon Shuler*

You can't imagine the thought & prayer put into this name.  With Rance being a school teacher (which ruled out 1,000+ names), he was VERY picky about our child's name - it HAD to be a STRONG name and it HAD to have spiritual meaning.

Jayden means "Jehovah heard" or "God heard."  It's really fun to walk back through both of our spiritual journey's and see how God heard our many prayers and graciously answered according to His will whether prayed by us or others that were praying for us.  It was not until the college years that our lives began to spiritually change and it's fun to just recall a FEW of the million ways GOD HEARD:
  • He sent us both amazing guy/gal friends in college that spent much time investing in us spiritually.
  • He answered our specific prayers & superceded all of our expectations for a Godly spouse.
  • He provided in abundant ways with my job, selling my house, providing a house to rent, etc. when I moved to Robbinsville.
  • He has been so faithful in hearing and growing us up in more ways than we can begin to explain in this journey of the abundant life.
  • He heard our many prayers over a child too!  There were so many things I learned while waiting to get pregnant, not knowing if I would, but I knew that Father heard my prayers regardless and that He would answer IN OUR BEST INTEREST whatever that may be.

Jayden (spelled Jadon in the Bible) is also in the book of Nehemiah as he helped rebuild the city walls of Jerusalem.  There will be no denying the fact that Jayden will know God hears everything from the shouts of our praises to the very cries of our heart.

Rance played around for a while with a middle name but TALON was the winner.  A talon is a claw of an eagle or hawk.  Eagle talons are 5 to 10x stronger in strength than the human hand.  We want Jayden to know that he may physically strong or mentally strong but REAL strength in this life only comes from the Lord and we want him to know and experience that strength daily!

There you have it - Jayden Talon Shuler!

A RANDOM overnighter happened in Nahunta (last minute) the last weekend of February since Rance was heading to Greensboro, NC to watch Robbinsville wrestle in the state championship.  I decided to jump in the truck with him and head a couple more hours east to see my mama, daddy, and brother for an evening!
