Yo, Yo, Yo... |
You may be wondering what I am teaching these girls huh?!?! We have been studying THOROUGHLY what it looks like to love others over the last few weeks. Have you ever thought about the fact that the law would not even be necessary or needed if we simply LOVED GOD and LOVED OTHERS? Father clearly says over and over that those are the two greatest commandments. If we loved others the way Father does - we would NOT committ adultery, murder, steal, covet, and the list goes on.
It's been fun processing with these girls what it really looks like to LOVE OTHERS - all the time - no matter what. If someone stabs you in the back - LOVE THEM. If someone steals from you - LOVE THEM. If someone talks about you - LOVE THEM. If someone just gets on your nerves - LOVE THEM. As I am praying for these girls and what I am teaching and what we are learning together - I am constantly asking Father to help us APPLY what we are learning. It's one thing to meet together, study God's Word, and understand what Father is saying about loving others but it's a different story to actually APPLY THE WORD. There is often times a disconnect between the two and what is the point of meeting together if we never apply what Father is teaching us?!?!
The other night, Father gave us the perfect opportunity to change things up a bit and instead of studying some more about loving others - WE ACTUALLY GOT TO PUT IT INTO ACTION. One of the girls in our group recently moved and she was having a hard few days and the Holy Spirit was so clear to me to take the time that night to LOVE ON HER. When the girls arrived at the house - we ate dinner as usual but then I told them we were doing something a little different that evening. We put our creative sides together, put on our bandanas and sunglasses and SKYPED (thank you Jesus for technology) with this precious girl by doing a little GANGSTA remix. I'm not sure if she enjoyed it as much as we did but by the end of our "show" - we were all laughing hysterically. We sang Lean on me, O Happy Day, In the Light, and Autumn did an original McDonald's rap (which I am still rapping BOOM BOOM BIG MAC in my head to this day).
After an hour long skype date and a lot of laughs - I thanked Father a million times for changing up our study that night and being able to build up a Sister in Christ TOGETHER.
Feel free to contact us anytime you need a good laugh :)
